BOOK DWAYNE HODGES

Chicago native Dwayne Hodges grew up listening to the likes of the Chi-lites, Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, and more. His musical appetite reaches back to the depths of the Motown Sound to the soul of Stax Records and The Philadelphia Sound with Gamble and Huff. Dwayne’s musical influences include Donny Hathaway, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, and Teddy Pendergrass. Dwayne has developed a newfound appreciation for music and reclaiming/reliving some of the most classic songs in musical history.

Dwayne has been singing since the third grade and in high school, was chosen as an All State Choir member in the State of Iowa. Also in high school, Dwayne sang in acapella choir, mixed choir, bass choir, show choir, and performed in the musicals Bye, Bye, Birdie, Oklahoma, and 1940’s Radio Hour where Dwayne played the lead character. Dwayne took his talents to the United States Marine Corps where he competed in several talent competitions in the US and in Japan. He has recently played roles in the plays You Don’t Know Me From a Male Perspective, the production Issues of Life and The adapted version of the WIZ where Dwayne played on of the lead characters “The Lion”. Dwayne currently sings with the soul band 10 of Soul based in the Quad Cities and he is currently working on his first gospel/christian EP “Back to Heart of Worship” under the Redeemed Recordings imprint. Dwayne heads two promotion and event management companies, Quad Cities Minority Expo and True Gospel Enterprises. Dwayne also volunteers at KALA Radio at St. Ambrose University. Dwayne has recently taken up his calling in ministry and pastors Redeemed Voices Church located in Davenport Iowa. Dwayne is available for your live recordings, worship nights, conference, and vocal production. Dwayne is a gifted vocalist who brings a heart for God unto every note that is sung.
